Caring for Stainless Steel Sinks

To clean water spots from stainless, make a paste of 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts cream of tartar. Put it on the water spots, and when it dries, wipe off with a wet sponge or cloth.

Toilet Bowl Brightener

Every now and then, pour a 1 liter bottle of cola, flat or fizzy, regular or diet, into the bowl. Let it stay for an hour or more, flush and notice how the porcelain sparkles.

Keeping Shower Doors Clean

Once your glass shower door is clean, pour lightly few drops of baby oil on a soft cloth and apply a thin layer of oil to the door. This will keep the shower doors free of soap scum, hard-water deposits and dirt for weeks at a time.

Keep a Smooth-Sliding Shower Door


I like this one but it's not a cleaning tip.

Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the track, as this will keep your shower doors gliding smoothly

The Heinz Solution for copper pots


There are plenty of cleaners on the market for cleaning up your copper cookwear, but if you want to save a few bucks, be kind to the environment and don't mind a little elbow grease, then head for the fridge and grab the ketchup!

The acids found in ketchup will eat tarnish up!

Give your cookware a light coating and wait. (Depending on how tarnished we're talking here, you're looking at from 5 minutes all the way up to 30 minutes). Then rinse and dry!
